Silver award for Bridal Arrangement at Melbourne Ikebana Festival 2024.
Karen is a member of Sogetsu Teachers Association, Sogetsu Victoria and Ikebana International. She is an inclusive teacher with skills and training as an ikebana therapy guide so that she can connect people including those with special needs to the meditative practice of artful flower arrangement that can soothe anxiety and deepen connection to nature and each other. She has exhibited with her teacher Shoso Shimbo, Sogetsu Victoria, Ikebana International and at the Melbourne flower and garden show. She won the bridal arrangement award and got a silver award for her arrangement of fresh and dried materials at the Melbourne ikebana festival in 2024.
