The Melbourne Ikebana Festival is honoured to welcome Dr Hamasaki and Professor Niikawa, internationally recognised pioneers of Ikebana Therapy. At Melbourne Ikebana Festival 2026, they will personally lead this certification course.

Experience the beauty of Japanese flower arranging in our 45-minute, all-inclusive ikebana workshop for beginners. No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided. Simply come along and enjoy creating your own arrangement to take home.

Ikebana for Kids (Primary School Year 1 to Year 6).

Under the theme of "ikebana for restaurants and cafes", selected ikebana artists demonstrate their work in 6 minutes each. Through this demonstration, we hope to inspire greater appreciation of ikebana’s potential in commercial settings.

Hanadayori Night – Melbourne Recital Centre. Shoso Shimbo creates a large-scale ikebana installation in response to a live performance by internationally acclaimed vocalist Jessica Aszodi. Experience a unique contemporary artwork where music and flowers come together.

This workshop is for men who are interested in flowers. Female participants are also welcome.

Our conference this year delves into exploring the profound impact of Ikebana on our mental well-being. Professor Niikawa from Kyoto will talka about ikebana and its impact on our life.

This is an immersive Japanese ikebana experience. The lesson will be conducted in easy-to-understand Japanese.
